During Phase III the entire building was seismically upgraded. A new elevator shaft and elevator was installed and electrical and mechanical systems were brought up to current code compliance. The unique protected original plaster and wood finishes were restored. As part of the restoration, the fire escapes were taken off site, restored and re-installed on the
building. During the current and final phase of the project, the historic windows will be restored off-site and re-installed and a new community recording studio will be built in the space.
